About the upcoming series from Smith Clinic Yellow September Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month Series

Yellow Ribbon and Smith Clinic Logo to represent the Yellow September Series.

September is not just a month for me, it’s a movement.

Our Yellow September Series explores suicide prevention through the lens of neuropsychology, cultural sensitivity, and digital realities.

This is me, I’m Stephanie Joy Smith, a British neuropsychologist in São Paulo, Brazil.

I blend traditional assessment with practical evidence based interventions for today’s hyperconnected world.

I look forward for the living, and for all of those who show the courage to live even in despair, to persist despite your pain, many of you, in silence.

I say:

You are seen.

You are remarkable.

Behind every stat is a developing brain, life which is forming, and a future that is still possible.

One day, I may share my own family’s darkest 14 minutes. For now, writing this series is all I can offer.

The crisis is real. The statistics are stark. But solutions exist. They demand action.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to any of the following.
Brazil: CVV – 188
USA: Lifeline – 988
UK: Samaritans – 116 123
International: findahelpline.com

Remember: you are not alone, and help is always available.

The first of the blog posts in the series are about Adam Raine. A Portrait of Digital Age Vulnerability, and I’ll be sharing A neuropsychologist’s perspective on the intersection of technology, isolation, and suicide prevention.
